Akiko Otani

Akiko Otani joined Takeda as the Director of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) supporting the R&D Global Patient and Scientific Affairs team, based in the Boston office. In this role, Ms. Otani drives the development and implementation of a global strategy and implementation plan that engages proactively, key internal and external stakeholders to position Takeda as a leader in PPPs.

Prior to joining Takeda, Ms. Otani had a successful career spanning more than 20 years of global experience in the non-profit sector. She brings extensive experience working globally in international development and has spent most of her career based in the Asia-Pacific region. Ms. Otani received her Bachelors of Arts from McGill University in Montreal, Canada and Masters in Media and Governance summa cum laude from Keio University. She currently resides in Cambridge, MA with her husband and three young children.
