Dan is an environmental prosecutor turned biohacker. After the “Outlaw Biology” workshop at UCLA, he met like-minded colleagues and started a bio lab at a hackerspace in LA. He has had to learn bioengineering skills as an absolute beginner. As VP of research and a director of Thel4b he led its team to IGEM. His current project is to use CRISPR to knock out the flowering gene of Arabidopsis thaliana.
