Daniel Kagan


Daniel Kagan, COO at Scientist.com, is a bioengineer and Ironman triathlete that has worked extensively with life science startups. Dan joined Scientist.com five years ago when he realized that a perfect storm of challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry had created a once-in-a-generation opportunity to fundamentally transform medical research. Dan has played a pivotal role in building and leading Scientist.com, which in 2018 was named the 9th fastest-growing privately owned company in the US by Inc. Prior to Scientist.com, he advised startups at eBoost Consulting, started ChemoTactics, a chemokine reagents producer/ distributor, and was CTO of the UC-San Diego 100K Entrepreneur Challenge. In 2012, Dan was selected as a Siebel Scholar. He holds a M.S. and PhD in Bioengineering from Joseph Wang’s lab at UCSD (Gordon Scholar) and a B.S. degree summa cum laude from Rutgers University.
