As an artist, Daniel seeks to explore the boundaries of what defines Photography (light-drawing). He works to create unique artistic practices by manipulating forms of light and photographic materials. In making his images, he takes on the roles of sculptor, painter, scientist, and inventor coupled with that of a photographer. With his work Daniel hopes to explore the fundamental reactions of the psyche to imagery that, while abstract, is representative of the forces that comprise our world.

As a scientist/engineer, Daniel aims to create nanotechnologies capable of harnessing light to a degree never before possible. To accomplish this, he is researching and developing novel nanofabrication methodologies for the creation of truly three dimensional structures with nanometer resolutions. With these new fabrication techniques he hopes to create optical metamaterials, photonic crystals, and 3D electronics beyond the scope of traditional nanofabrication.
