Doug Foster is a member of The LAB Inc. and is the lead in the lab's effort to bioprint an animal. He became interested in DIY scientific instrumentation while a grad student studying circadian rhythms in the single celled algae G. polyhedra. That interest grew while teaching high school electronics overseas, where he found that students were more interested in making scientific devices in electronics classes than they were studying science in science classes. He has a 2º Life Science California teaching credential, is not presently teaching, and occasionally gives make-and-take bioamplifier workshops. Doug is a strong but low profile advocate for the participation of community bio labs scientific conferences.
