Haoshin Chang is a researcher, educator and a practitioner that crosses over fields of art, science and technology (AST). With an emphasis on the hybridized, interwinding social-cultural linkage in AST, his research interest focuses on Science Studies, STS, Bioart and other interdisciplinary studies of science. He seeks to experiment with the possible forms to establish critical conversation. He is involved in various academic fields, including research projects for coral reef ecologies or for history of contemporary feminist artists, where he worked and conducted his field site observations. He has also worked in science communication and medical information design as a curator and a producer, and has collaborated with NGOs, corporations, museums and festivals in Taiwan, Shenzhen and Shanghai. He co-founded

autonomous communities Bioart Taiwan (Bioart.tw) and Archipelago (群島), exploring issues about open sourcing, civil technology, biopolitics under technopoly and technoscience while connecting the local group to global networks. His research and artistic practices have been presented in ISEA, Aichi Arts Center, China Art Academy and various other events. Haoshin holds a Bachelor of Science in Life Science at National Taiwan University and a M.F.A. in Trans-disciplinary Art at Taipei University of Arts. He is currently a lecturer in Roy Ascott Studio Technoetic Art Program at Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts.
