Jessica is a researcher and designer, whose current focus is at the overlap of biology, fashion and product design. She is interested in fusing handcraft and digital fabrication with natural materials and living systems - strongly believing in collaborating with nature.

Her design approach is dynamic, working from the cultivation of microorganisms to computational design and digital fabrication. The scale of Jessica’s work ranges from wearables and product design to proposals of architectural and urban metabolic systems. With no formal training in biology, Jessica is fascinated by the DIY biology movement and its capacity to empower designers and makers to tackle industrial problems with biological solutions.

Jessica is currently working at FabTextiles BioLab, Fab Lab BCN and holds a Master degree from the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, Barcelona as well as an M.Eng in Environmental Design and a B.A in Architecture from the University of Nottingham.
