During my day job as a PhD student I play around with micro-droplets of liquids on chips (microfluidics) and try to automate many synbio procedures (single-cell studies). But I'm also a biohacker and maker. When moving to Montréal from Belgium, I got involved with Bricobio, the local community lab, that I currently help managing. I'm passionate about all cross-disciplinary biotech and even more so the policies around it, and how we as DIY biologists are challenging these. Especially the possible risks and lack of fast acting policies around biosecurity and safety sparked my interest in being more involved in the science policy community as well.
