Lucas Potter

I've been studying how engineering can make the world a better place since high school- where I focused on building robots and began a multi-year internship at Materials Modification Inc. There I created ceramic body armor, and worked on new techniques of manufacturing hemostats and burn care treatments. My undergraduate education was in Biomedical Engineering, and I worked with NASA Langley Research Center in Human Factors, and with the Hunter Holmes McGuire Veteran's Administration Hospital in finding universal design control systems for Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation. I am currently at Old Dominion University, where I focus on cellular respiratory- especially lowering the cost of access for high-resolution polarography. I have also been involved (to varying degrees) with Engineers Without Borders for the last 5 years, primarily in Honduras and Guatemala.
