Madeline Smith

Madeline is a fourth year Ph.D candidate in Professor Marya Lieberman's lab at the University of Notre Dame. Madeline works on the development and testing of paper analytical devices (PADs) for the detection of chemotherapy drugs. She has an active collaboration in Ethiopia to test these chemoPADs in the field. Madeline is also working on a test card for measuring part per billion (ppb) levels of iodine in urine. At Notre Dame, Madeline is currently the President of the Association for Women in Science chapter. She hopes to apply her skill set to an industrial setting after obtaining her degree.
