Martha Carolina Elizondo Cantu

As a current Biotechnology Engineering student, I have been able to participate in diverse extra-academic activities and research opportunities. I belonged to the iGEM team from my university, Tecnologico de Monterrey, for 3 years, starting as a collaborator and culminating as team leader. I had the opportunity to be a research trainee during 6 months at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. Currently I work in the group of Bioengineering, Biosystems and Synthetic Biology at my university. Regarding extra-academic activities, I was president of the Association of Students of Biotechnology Engineering. I work in the organization BioGenera, encouraging the promotion of science and scientific education, using Biotechnology. In 2017, I was selected as one of the 100 young leaders in Biotechnology in Latin America, being now an ambassador from the organization, AllBiotech, in Mexico and Academic Program Coordinator of the second summit.
