I was born and raised in Medellín, Colombia. Since I was a child, I have felt awe with living systems. That feeling led me to study Biological Engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and later on to obtain a MSc degree in Biotechnology. Coming from a developing country, I have come to realize the importance of Science in the process of social transformation, hence my interest in the link between scientific thought, community work and science access.
