Steve Lewis is a biotechnology professional with experience in federal, commercial, and startup environments. Steve is an active member of the community bio lab at Inworks -- a not-for-profit community prototyping and laboratory space built in collaboration with the University of Colorado, Denver. In 2017, Steve represented Inworks as a finalist in the Biodesign Challenge, an international design competition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Steve's team invented and successfully prototyped the world’s first battery-free biosensor wristband that glows when users become too intoxicated to drive. At Merrick and Company, Steve leads IT and biologics development operational planning efforts for the National Bio and Agro-defense Facility (NBAF) supporting the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Steve is also actively working as a thought leader in defining the emerging discipline of cyberbiosecurity.
