I graduated in May of 2017 as an engineer in Biotechnology from Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico and am currently a Student of the Masters program of Systems and Synthetic Biology at the University of Edinburgh.

Previous to my masters I was doing Research at the Endy Lab at Stanford and the Cibrian Lab at the National Laboratory of Genomics for Biodiversity in Mexico.I'm interested in the use of synthetic biology for conservation of biology and for this reason I formed part of the group Youth Biotech that participated in the 2016 United Nations Biodiversity Conference in order to give our voice in favor of the use of responsible biotechnological solutions for the environment.

I am also interested in the democratization of Biotechnology and Biotechnology Education and for this reason I have been collaborating with the University of Guanajuato, as an advisor, in order to create a new Undergraduate program of Biological Engineering which will focus on teaching the new tools of synthetic biology and systems biology.
