Viirj Kan develops bio-interfaces that connect humans to biological and chemical systems through wearable, edible, and interactive displays. She is the founder of Primitives Lab, a bio-materials startup based in San Francisco. She is an alumna of the MIT Media Lab, where she conducted research on stimuli-responsive biomaterials from food, in the field of Human-Computer Interaction. During her time at MIT, she was involved in a number of bio-engineering activities with EMW Street Bio, MIT iGEM team, and the HTGAA course.
