Vipal Jain is a law student and a co-founder of a biohackerspace in Ottawa. After moving from Toronto to Ottawa, Vipal co-founded Biotown to help establish an open community lab in Canada’s capital. Vipal is interested in the future of emerging technologies and is a strong proponent for interdisciplinary collaboration. She has worked in several different research labs focussing on topics such as genetics and global health. Her current research focusses on the role of regulatory regimes in supporting the growth of biohackerspaces. Vipal holds a Bachelor of Science in Genetics & Biotechnology from the University of Toronto and is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa.
