vittorio milone

Vittorio Milone is PhD candidate at the University of Napoli "L'Orientale" with an international action research/field research project on (bio)hackers communities and a developer of low-cost open source prototypes: he is also a co-founder of DIYWithOthers (Bio)FabbingLab Napoli and of the Open Rehabilitation Prototypes initiative, whose projects were also selected to be on display at national and international fairs. After an MA thesis on the practices of technological (re)appropriation in the hacker world supervised by Tiziana Terranova, he published on hackers and political innovation and presented on topics related to (frugal) innovation at international academic and non-academic events. He is also a member of various - mainly informal- research networks ('Sharing and Collaborative Economy Research Network; Technoculture Research Unit (University of Napoli "L'Orientale"); some biohacking-related research networks). He is currently compiling a global analytical map of biohacking practices within a PRIN research project at the University of Napoli "Federico II" .
